More books

We include interesting books by various authors here, often with a short summary. Sasha’s books released by other publishers are also listed here.
The list is alphabetical, by author.

The House Book
Stephanie Camilleri

A new House book, published in June 1999, and the contents are new as well. We’ve seen various books written on the Astrological Houses, including many good ones. However, this book stands out very well amongst the others, taking an experienced astrologer’s in-depth study of about 1,500 charts, and setting out from the basis of actual, up-to-date characteristics rather than traditional House attributes and extrapolations.

There is always a need to re-examine standard values in any subject, rather than just accepting existing data. This book does exactly that, in a very practical, thorough manner. Many new insights come to light here, and it is really a delight to see such a wealth of fresh insight into astrological characteristics as is evident in this book. If you want to see people in a really new light, then try this book, whether you are an amateur or even an experienced astrologer. It made us read it from cover to cover.

ISBN 1-56718-108-2

Healing Pluto Problems
Donna Cunningham

Donna has written a number of astrology books, all very good reading, but this one stands out as the book on a very difficult area of many peoples’ charts; the planet Pluto affects us in many significant ways, from grief, fear and resentment, abuse and domestic violence, to death and transformation of our lives.
These experiences are invariably traumatic and life-changing, difficult to confront yet at times impossible to avoid. Donna has the warmth and compassion derived from many years of counseling and working with these areas of peoples’ lives, and this book not only explains the root causes of such problems, it goes on to show how to deal with these issues.
This is a great book to read and even better to have handy for reference purposes.
Don’t lend it out, you won’t get it back!

Redwheel/Weiser Inc.
ISBN 0-87728-398-2
218 pages          (price varies, probably about $7.00)

Astrolocality Astrology
Martin Davis

“A guide to what it is, and how to use it”.
“Martin Davis’ eloquent exposition of
(Astro*Carto*Graphy and Local Space) provides
a comprehensive and welcome account of
one of the most significant developments
in modern astrology”.{ Nicholas Campion}
Martin knows exactly what he is talking about with this subject, it is close to his heart, and he is also the UK agent for Matrix software, which produces charts needed to explore this up and coming area of astrology.
A very thorough exposition of the subject, and if you get the opportunity to attend one of Martin’s lectures on the subject, we recommend that you do so - he knows the subject inside out.

A Handbook of Medical Astrology
Jane Ridder-Patrick

Unfortunately, this valuable book is currently out of print. There may well still be copies available in some outlets, and it is worth trying to find a copy - you could try Amazon.co.uk for a secondhand copy, or ask any major Astrology bookshop to find a copy. It is possible that the publishers will republish...

Medical astrology uses the birthchart to examine the strengths and weaknesses of the individual in the areas of Mind, Body and Spirit, and is thus a valuable aid in both traditional and holistic terms. This very thorough and well written book includes a comprehensive bibliography for further reading, and is an excellent reference book for the serious astrologer.
Jane is a pharmacist, herbalist, practitioner of natural medicine and a professional astrologer, with a practice near Glasgow in Scotland.
