Sasha was born in Bushey, North London in 1943. Her mother, psychic herself, encouraged Sasha’s interest in divinatory subjects, although it was to be some time before Sasha put her natural abilities to full use.

Sasha worked as a professional Astrologer, Tarot Reader, consultant and Palmist from 1974 until the mid ‘90s. During this time, she rapidly developed into an energetic (well, Leo is a Fire sign...) dynamo:- besides her writing and consulting careers, Sasha has held the posts of President of BAPS (British Astrological & Psychic Society), Chair of the British Advisory Panel on Astrological Education and member of the Executive Council of the Writers’ Guild of Great Britain. At the same time, she has appeared frequently on UK radio and TV, written columns for UK magazines such as Woman’s Own and run workshops in fascinating places such as Hong Kong, Australia, South Africa and Norway. In her spare time(?), Sasha also learned to fly a Cessna for relaxation.

It was in the early 1980s that Sasha, prompted by her good friend Anne Christie, decided to try her hand at writing. Her first book (Fortune Telling by Tarot Cards) was taken up by Aquarian (later taken over by Thorsons, & then by HarperCollins), and published in 1985 - also as a pack including the impressive Prediction Tarot deck; the latter is unfortunately no longer available. The book, however, has done very nicely - over 600,000 copies sold to date. Sasha took back the rights a few years back, and the book has now been revised and updated; so , after 25 years, it is still available (Via Zambezi in the UK, Sterling Publishing in USA & elsewhere) and setting standards for Tarot books to live up to.

Things grew apace thereafter, and Sasha discovered a natural skill as a writer. She is still hesitant to believe that she might be a bit above the norm, but after 119 books, commissioned by publishers within the UK, USA and elsewhere, distributed internationally, with translations into 11 languages, we tend to disagree! Her typical style of writing takes complicated subjects and translates them into easily digestible books, accessible even by people unacquainted with the subject. Not as easy as it may sound - before you can write authoritatively about something, you have to know the subject inside out, and in your sleep...

More recently, Sasha and her husband Jan Budkowski formed their own publishing house, Zambezi Publishing Ltd. Based in Plymouth, in the beautiful South West of England, they enjoy the tranquillity and beauty of the region. Jan is a keen fly fisherman and loves the trout and salmon rivers, as well as the salt water fishing in the area.
